Meet your Instructor

Janay is a passionate music educator and working vocalist serving the Mooresville, Ballantyne, Waxhaw, and greater Charlotte area. She holds an Associate of Fine Arts in Music from Mitchell Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a strong focus in Vocal Performance from Queens University of Charlotte. With over a decade of musical experience, Janay is dedicated to helping students grow in both skill and confidence through personalized, encouraging instruction. In addition to her vocal training, she has studied piano for 15+ years, allowing her to support students with strong musicianship and well-rounded musical foundations. She brings a strong knowledge of music theory into her teaching, helping students understand how music works while building confident, informed musicians. Janay has traveled and competed in choral competitions around the world, experiences that have shaped her musical perspective and deepened her appreciation for diverse musical traditions. As an active performer throughout the Charlotte and Mooresville areas, she brings real-world vocal technique, musicianship, and performance insight into each lesson, creating a supportive and inspiring learning experience for every student.
